TB Academy Technical Training Program – Montreal September 9-11, TelcoBridges Headquarters

Montreal September 2014 – TB Academy Technical Training

September 9-11, TelcoBridges Headquarters

TelcoBridges is organizing a second TB Academy Technical Training event at its headquarters this year. This 3-day training event is designed to make attendees self-sufficient when working with Tmedia VoIP Gateways.

This event is tailored for VoIPeEngineers, telecommunications network and solutions architects, installation technicians, commissioning specialists, and Network Operation Center (NOC) operators needing to deploy or maintain Tmedia VoIP Gateways.

Agenda/Topics Covered:

Day 1: September 9 – Beginner

Morning  (General Introduction)

Introduction:

The training begins with a greeting from the TB Academy trainers and an overview of the agenda.

Product Overview:

We provide an overview of the product portfolio before diving into features and capabilities.

Network Architecture:

We help you to understand where Tmedia gateways fit into your network. By providing specific, real-world examples of how Tmedia gateways are  best used, we help you see what you can achieve.

Afternoon (Configuration Introduction)

Basic Configuration:

We present Web OAMP – the configuration interface.  We describe how it works; how to configure different elements in the system; and we explain the logic behind a TelcoBridges’ configuration.

Basic Routing Course:

We present basic call routing.  We describe the standard routing scheme of gateways, enabling our attendees to understand how it works, while we cover best configuration practices.

Day 2: September 10 – Intermediate:

Morning (Architecture)

Hardware Installation:

We describe how to physically install and connect the different Tmedia gateways.

Tmedia Architecture and Redundancy Scheme:

We bring attendees closer to the inner workings of the gateways.  This will help you to understand the internal design, and learn how to achieve redundancy in a variety of scenarios.

SS7 Architecture:

Tmedia has an internal ISUP stack.  It also shares the MTP3 layer.  This adds a lot of potential for your network, and this part of the course will explain how it all comes together, so that you can obtain the optimal performance for your system.

Afternoon (Troubleshooting)

Efficient Network Troubleshooting:

We present TB Analytics – the industry’s most powerful network troubleshooting suite.  These invaluable tools help you to understand and quickly troubleshoot problems in your network to accelerate the deployment of new solutions.  Capabilities discussed include:

  • Call Trace
  • Test Call
  • TB Sigtrace
  • Targeted Recording

Day 3: September 11– Advanced:

Morning (Scripts)

Routing Scripts:

On day 1, we covered basic routing, which is somewhat limited in terms of flexibility.  On day 3, we show you how to overcome these limitations by digging into routing scripts.  Routing scripts can facilitate any routing behavior; enabling you to modify your calls; access external applications to make decisions on each call, and more.  This training is a must have for engineers who want to get the most out of their TelcoBridges’ gateways.

Prerequisite: Monday afternoon’s Basic Routing course.

Day 3: September 11 – Everyone:

Afternoon (New Features)

Operational Features:

We never stop improving our gateways.  With Toolpack 2.7, you have access to new features, like: ISUP SPIROU; SIP custom headers in routing scripts; H.248 CAS; CAS R1 and more.  We walk you through these features.

Flexible IP:

In the upcoming version 2.8 of Toolpack, Tmedia gateways will be a lot more flexible on the IP side, featuring multiple IP addresses by port; VLANs support; Ethernet port bonding; and access to 2 new ports on the TMG3200 and TMG7800.  This part of the course presents these new features.

SNMP Enhancements:

For 2.8, TelcoBridges’ R&D team spent a lot of time adding features and MIBs to our SNMP, which makes it easier to monitor the gateways.  We explain what you can expect from this new version for SNMP.

Roadmap:

We describe what is coming up in the year ahead, particularly with respect to Toolpack 2.7, 2.8, and 2.9.  This roadmap will help you see how Tmedia gateways can be used more effectively in the year ahead.

Conclusion:

We wrap up the day with an opportunity to discuss your specific needs with TelcoBridges’ staff and with like-minded partners.
