After Comprehensive Media Gateway Evaluation
DorukNet Chooses TelcoBridges to Replace Alcatel-Lucent Legacy Equipment
Boucherville, Quebec: October 29, 2014 – TelcoBridges today announced that DorukNet, Turkey’s leading Service Provider has replaced its legacy media gateway infrastructure with TelcoBridges’ Tmedia.
Founded in 1993 in Istanbul, DorukNet provides enterprise voice, data and security services to more than 30,000 corporate customers throughout Turkey. DorukNet also provides voice, email, and web hosting services to tens of thousands of residential customers. And DorukNet offers more than 600 Wireless Internet Access hotspots for cafes, restaurants and shops throughout Turkey. Since 2004, DorukNet has provided voice connections for every point in Turkey to large-scale international telecom operators.
DorukNet’s business has expanded rapidly in recent years. During this growth, the company’s Alcatel-Lucent media gateways could not keep up with Call Attempts per Second (CAPS) requirements. They were experiencing a number of DSP resource issues associated with converting TDM to VoIP. And the aging gateways were no longer supported by the manufacturer. As a result, DorukNet conducted a comprehensive evaluation of media gateways involving TelcoBridges, Squire, Sonus and other providers.
“Our technical team worked extensively with representatives from each gateway provider,” said A. Gokhan Erkman, General Manager of DorukNet. “The TelcoBridges team addressed our requirements the fastest. The Tmedia gateway offered the best performance, and we felt as though TelcoBridges’ maintenance and support offerings exceeded what any other vendor could provide. These factors made our selection of TelcoBridges an easy choice.”
As a result of upgrading to Tmedia, corporate and residential customers are now able to access the total capacity of DorukNet’s network with superior call quality. And DorukNet is also able to work more effectively with international service providers.
“Our success with DorukNet could not have been achieved without the help of our local partner Sintel, who played a key role in the technical evaluations, commercial discussions, and ultimately, in the final selection,” said Gaetan Campeau, CEO of TelcoBridges. “We’re looking forward to a long relationship with DorukNet, and to continued success with our partner Sintel, to help all of our customers in this part of the world.”
