What is ProSBC?
ProSBC is TelcoBridges’ software-based session border controller that secures, manages, and routes SIP-based VoIP traffic. It offers advanced features such as high availability, intelligent call routing, robust security, and comprehensive monitoring. Suitable for SIP trunking, carrier interconnects, and cloud voice services, ProSBC is widely used by service providers and voice network operators.
What was FreeSBC?
FreeSBC was a free version of ProSBC, designed for testing, learning, and self-training. Offered under a “freemium” model, it included limited SBC features and could support 50 concurrent calls. FreeSBC was designed to allow customers to evaluate our product and become familiar with its functionality in non-production environments.
Unfortunately, over the past few years, we observed that FreeSBC was being used in production. Therefore, TelcoBridges made the decision to discontinue customer’s ability to renew their FreeSBC licenses.
Recognizing the importance of teaching, evaluation, and validation in the VoIP industry, TelcoBridges created ProSBC Lab. This version runs on the latest firmware and is offered completely free of charge to replace FreeSBC as a learning and testing tool.
I use FreeSBC in my lab test environment. What are my options after FreeSBC is discontinued?
Customers looking to perform testing and validation in a non-commercial environment are encouraged to use ProSBC Lab.
What is ProSBC Lab?
ProSBC Lab is a non-commercial version of TelcoBridges’ Session Border Controller, designed for self-training, testing, and learning. It’s well-suited for developers, testers, and educators who want to explore ProSBC’s features, build proof-of-concepts, and gain hands-on experience in a lab setting. The Lab edition runs on the latest firmware but only includes three concurrent sessions of call capacity.
How do I migrate from FreeSBC to ProSBC Lab?
Existing FreeSBC licenses remain active until their expiration date but cannot be modified or renewed. Once a license expires, users will have the opportunity to upgrade to a ProSBC or download a ProSBC Lab via the TelcoBridges Customer Dashboard.
I need to test with hundreds or thousands of concurrent calls before purchasing. ProSBC Lab is insufficient for this. What are my options?
New customers that purchase their first ProSBC license receive a 30-day free trial. The trial provides full access to product features, which is ideal for businesses assessing ProSBC’s capabilities before moving forward with deployment.
